At Team Texas HRD & Tracking K9s, we are a volunteer-driven nonprofit dedicated to helping bring missing loved ones home. We partner with law enforcement agencies and families to assist in searches for lost, missing, and endangered individuals—from hikers and hunters to children and vulnerable adults. Using highly trained K9 teams, we also support cold case investigations, disaster response, water recoveries, and human trafficking efforts.

Founder & co-founder

Team Texas K9s was founded by Allen and Crystal “Red” Fields in August 2016 in Troy, Texas, with one mission at heart: to help search for, rescue, and recover missing loved ones. What began with Allen, Red, and their first K9 partner, Nationally Certified HRD Land & Water K9 Riegel, quickly became something much greater than a single team. It became a purpose-driven organization built on compassion, experience, and an unwavering commitment to families in crisis.

The foundation of Team Texas K9s was shaped not only by search and recovery work, but by family. With three grandsons on the autism spectrum, Allen and Red saw firsthand how critical specialized tracking resources could be for vulnerable missing individuals.

That personal experience led to the addition of Nationally Certified Scent Specific K9 Boogie and expanded the team’s mission into scent-specific tracking.

Their grandsons remain a driving force behind that mission:

Braylon (“BrayBray”) – high-functioning
Zane (“ZaneZane”) – high-functioning with Asperger’s
Kash (“KashKash”) – non-verbal

Their love for these boys, and the understanding that every second matters when a loved one goes missing, helped shape the heart behind what Team Texas K9s stands for today.

What started as just Allen, Red, and one K9 has grown over the years into a dedicated team of handlers, family, friends, and highly trained K9s-each committed to serving others in some of life’s most difficult moments.

At its core, Team Texas K9s was built on faith, family, and the relentless pursuit of bringing loved ones home.

Our team has independent handlers & certified K9s that maintain their own K9s, vehicles, trailers, equipment, and deploy when called by responsible authority (Law Enforcement) to help with a lost, missing, or injured person. Our Directors/Handlers are able to aid and assist them in any way needed, including emergency medical care. Team Texas HRD & Tracking K9s IS AFFILIATED WITH TEAM TEXAS K9s.
